Visible Mending and Patch-Making

Visible Mending is a sustainable and creative way to mend and patch clothes, adding new life and personal expression to worn out favorites. Durham artist Anna Wallace guides guests through basic visible mending and patch-making techniques. Bring an article of clothing needing repair or make a patch to take home. No sewing experience needed. Recommended for teens and adults. Free.

Anna Wallace is a Durham-based artist and educator known for her ceramic and textile work. She received her MFA from UNCG and BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art. Follow her @annawallacemade.

Tours & Treats

Enjoy a family-friendly exploration of WAM’s newest exhibitions and top it off with a cool treat in the Sculpture Garden. Drop-in gallery activities, like storytelling and word games, are appropriate for all ages, including children accompanied by an adult. No reservations are needed, but if your group is larger than 10, please let us know by emailing weatherspoon@uncg.edu.

I’ll be in the main lobby with a large loom for families to come experiment with weaving!
